Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. She sings as well. As a child, Sara was racially taunted by a lot of Americans. The confidence started to build in the ninth grade when she entered a school audition and was highly praised for her singing. It not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. When she was 22, she received her degree from the Julliard School of New York. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. The biggest achievement of her career was in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's original Broadway production. She did not only get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by critics. Her fame grew when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Also, she is a well-known singer and has released an extended play. As an activist, she works tirelessly in the cause of LGBT equality.
