Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. Though the group didn't have much success in the United States however they became extremely popular overseas. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split from her band in 1979. After taking lessons in singing, she released her solo debut album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford vanished for some time from the scene following the albums' failure to get any attention. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hits. But her fame was only short-lived and she disappeared from the industry for several years. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
